"The Great Summer Arctic Storm of 2012" It is very rare to get an Arctic
storm in the summer. This is a cyclone and has been lasting for days.
Even the storms in the winter don't last this long. Ice in the Arctic is
breaking, melting and disappearing. They call it "Flash Melting." A
large patch of sea ice in the East Siberian Sea is almost entirely
detached from the main ice pack. 50 mph sustained winds for days now.
Ice is blowing all over the place.
