THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATENEW ORLEANS (AP) — An experimental cap on BP's blown out Gulf well seems to be working, and the oil remains shut in.

BP chief operating officer Doug Suttles says Sunday that the pressure continues to build, which is a good sign. Suttles says the cap appears to be working without problems.

Engineers decided Saturday to extend a two-day trial run by one day.

The pressure readings were still lower than expected, but Suttles says that's probably because the well is partially depleted.
